Canon may be known for photo printers but the office line of Pixma printers can hold its own. The MX860 and its little brother, the MX330, are both all-in-one printers that focus on the business side of printing while offering color photos. |

The Artisan 800 is the creative person's all-in-one printer. I still have yet to see a multifunction inkjet print photos like the Artisan 800 – or any inkjet in this price range for that matter. Plus, Epson offers a ton of features for designing and creating projects and crafts on through the provided software and the Epson website. |

The answer is maybe. These days it makes sense to reduce your impact on the environment and your bank account by purchasing three or four devices in one. For the everyday user at home or school there is much to be done with an all-in-one device and the prices on these machines have really fallen. The flip side is that depending on your needs you may not want to pay extra for devices you will never use. Most major manufacturers have reliable single function printers on the market for $150 or less. Or it could be that you need a high grade scanner, which is very hard to find on an all-in-one printer. Our suggestion? Make a list of the functions you're looking for in a device – color photo prints, Super G3 fax, laser quality text, etc. – and then do some research on what different brands and machines offer. |
