Canon introduced the new Pixma MG lineup featuring a sleek glossy black design and unique offerings not previously seen from the manufacturer at the tail end of summer.

New models included the budget friendly Pixma MG5220, the high end Pixma MG8120 and of course the Pixma MG6120.

Like the Pixma MG8120, the Pixma MG6120 features Canon's Intelligent Touch System, HD Movie Print, wireless connectivity, automatic duplexing, built-in card reader with USB slot, two-way paper feeding and six individual ink cartridges. Unlike the Pixma MG8120, the Pixma MG6120 comes in at $199.99.

But will it stand up to our rigorous tests like the Pixma MG8120?  Read our full review now and find out!

BUILD AND DESIGN
Like its big sister, the Pixma MG8120, the Canon PIXMA MG6120 is a good looking printer. Between the compact design, the glossy black exterior, the silver accents and the huge touch panel with a 3.0 inch adjustable LCD, the Pixma MG6120 is nearly identical to the flagship model (the only difference being the slightly smaller adjustable LCD).

The entire top panel is dedicated to the control panel. Smack in the center is the adjustable 3.0 inch LCD; lift the screen by pushing the large button above it. Beneath the screen, running the entire length of the top panel is the Intelligent Touch System. This touch sensitive control panel is unique to others on the market because the buttons are activated by electric current running through your finger as opposed to the actual push. Plus, the Pixma MG6120 only lights up the buttons necessary to perform the job at hand, making navigation a breeze.

Lift this top panel to access the 48-bit flatbed scanner. The Pixma MG6120 can scan a maximum document size of 8.5 by 11.7 inches at a maximum optical resolution of 4800 x 9600 dpi.

Open the Pixma MG6120 at the middle to reveal the inside of the device as well as the print head and six individual ink tanks. Canon includes one pigment-based PGI-225 Black ink cartridge and five dye-based CLI-226 ink cartridges (CMYK plus Gray) in the original packaging.

The built-in card reader is found behind a small panel with the PictBridge port directly beneath to the right of the output tray. The Pixma MG6120 is compatible with the following media: SD, SDHC, Multimedia Card (MMC), MMC Plus, CompactFlash Card, Microdrive, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick Duo and Memory Stick PRO Duo as well as PictBridge enabled cameras and USB Flash drives.

The Pixma MG6120 offers two-way paper feeding with an adjustable 150-sheet paper cassette located beneath the output tray and a 150-sheet rear folding tray. The Pixma MG6120 can handle a variety of media from 4x6 photo paper to legal size presentation paper.

Find all connections on the back of the all-in-one device. The Pixma MG6120 offers USB Hi-Speed 2.0, Ethernet and Wireless connectivity options.
