Kodak released its first office centric all-in-one inkjet, the ESP Office 6150, this year at CES. The latest addition to the popular ESP line features four devices (print, scan, copy, fax) as well as a 2.4-inch LCD, automatic duplexing, built-in networking including Wi-Fi, and Kodak’s wireless print app that's compatible with both iPhones and Blackberry devices.
Today, we’ll put the ESP Office 6150 up to the office challenge; can it meet and exceed the expectations of an SMB printer? Read our full review to find out!
ESP OFFICE 6150 SPECIFICATIONS:
BUILD AND DESIGN
The Kodak ESP Office 6150 reminds me instantly of the Kodak ESP 9 we reviewed awhile back in terms of size and design. They both have an all-black exterior with a hint of yellow above the control panel that makes me think of Kodak more than the small logo on the front of the printer.
The dimensions are approximately 18 x 9 x 17 inches without the output tray extended or the scanner lid open. The size is almost identical to the Kodak ESP 9, although the 6150 weighs less; about 19 pounds compared to 22 pounds.
The ESP Office 6150 has a 30-page automatic document feeder (ADF) on top of the scanner for easy scanning, copying or faxing of larger documents.
The 24-bit scanner, located directly beneath the ADF, has an optical resolution up to 1200 dpi and can scan documents and photos up to 8.5 x 14 inches in size (with use of ADF, actual scan bed is 8.5 x 11 inches).
The control panel runs the length of the ESP Office 6150 and features a 2.4-inch LCD, numerical key pad, four directional arrows, 11 quick keys and the power button.
Gain access to the inside of the printer by lifting the midsection. Here users will install two Kodak inks: the Kodak 10B black ink cartridge and the Kodak 10C color ink cartridge. For users who print more documents, Kodak offers a high capacity black ink cartridge, the 10XL. Kodak has advertised they have the lowest total ink replacement cost in the industry.
The 200-sheet paper tray is found beneath the control panel. The ESP Office 6150 is compatible with media up to 8.5 x 14 inches and can print up to 8.5 x 11 inch borderless photos.
All connections are on the back of the ESP Office 6150 including: the 10 Mbps Ethernet port, Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port, phone jack, and power connection. The 6150 also offers a built-in 802.11 b/g/n wireless connection.
