Polaroid teased a whole new lineup of instant imaging and printing products this evening at an exclusive press event hosted at the Las Vegas Hilton after announcing earlier today that a musician, Lady Gaga, would be the new creative director of a specialty line of Polaroid Imaging Products.
Hyped up as both a blast from the past and a stride into the future, there was a little bit for everyone in Polaroid's new product lineup.
For those who love to reminisce about the classic Polaroid OneStep Camera and white box film, Polaroid will have the PIC 1000, a redesigned version of the Polaroid camera so popular before the days of digital. The new school PIC 1000 will come in a variety of colors and will be offered with the Polaroid 600 Instant Film. This film is also compatible with old school Polaroid's for those of you who can't let go.
For fans of the PoGo and ZINK Imaging products, Polaroid introduced the 3"x4" Instant Digital Camera (yes, that is actually the product name). The 3"x4" Instant Digital has a built-in ZINK printer that produces - you guessed it - 3x4 inch prints, a step up from the previous generation PoGo Digital Camera. It does use the same inkless technology that is based on special ZINK paper that reacts to heat from the unit to create color images.
The 3"x4" Instant Digital Camera with built-in printer offers 12 megapixels, a large LCD screen and a rechargeable battery for on-the-go photo opportunities.
For image lovers who already own a digital camera, Polaroid offers the 3"x4" Instant Mobile Printer. Like the PoGo 2"x3" Instant Mobile printer, allows users to print from any PictBridge enabled camera completely ink free thanks to the special ZINK paper.
All the new products are projected to be available in the second half of 2010 at major retailers nationwide. For more information, including hands-on photos, visit the CES 2010: Printer News Headquarters for show floor coverage on Polaroid and their range of products.
