CANON PIXMA PRO9000 SPECIFICATIONS
CONCLUSION
Reading back through my notes, I was struck again by just how many times we compared the $500 Pro9000 Mark II ? and, in many of these cases, compared it favorably ? to the much more expensive Pro9500 Mark II. As with the original versions of these models, Canon has simply refused to "dumb down" the Pro9000, meaning the dye-ink version of their wide-format printer gets the same pro-grade features as its more costly sibling. And given that one of the few criticisms we could make about the Pro9500 Mark II was that its price tag would exclude many amateur shooters, the Pro9000 Mark II is just what the doctor ordered.
With vibrant color output, better speed than the Pro9500, and a much lower overall cost of operation, plus the same flexibility in media types and output options, the Pro9000 Mark II might just be the ideal entry point for amateur artists looking to dive into digital prints. Moreover, if black-and-whites are your one true passion, the Pro9500 is the undisputed answer; for the rest of us, though, the Pro9000 Mark II offers the same superior performance at a little more than half the price.
PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
The Canon Pixma Pro9000 Mark II is available on Canon's website for the suggested retail price of $499.99.
