Build and Design
In the case of the Samsung ML-5512nd, high functioning can also mean heavy; you'll want to unpack the printer with a second person and find a strong surface to place the printer on. This is not meant to be a desktop style laser despite the fairly compact standard dimensions (18 x 17 x 21 inches).
Dimensions will vary for medium-to-large businesses that decide to take advantage of paper handling options because the ML-5512nd runs with four additional cassettes or with two additional cassettes and a 2,000-sheet high capacity feeder caster base for a maximum paper capacity of 3,660 sheets. You can also upgrade by adding a finisher with stapler or a four slot mailbox.
The ML-5512nd has a large output tray (maximum 1,000 sheets) on the top of the device with the control panel residing on the front. The control panel features a four line LCD, four directional navigation wheel, alphanumeric keypad and five quick keys (including the Eco Mode button).
Lift up under the control panel to access the consumables. The ML-5512nd uses a two piece set with a toner cartridge and imaging unit. Samsung offers three toner yields: standard capacity up to 10,000 pages, high capacity up to 30,000 pages and a third extra high capacity up to 40,000 pages. The imaging unit has a standard life of 80,000 pages.
Both the 100-sheet multipurpose tray and standard 520-sheet paper cassette can be accessed via the front of the device. You'll also find a front side USB port just above the multipurpose tray handle.
The ML-5512nd comes with a 700MHz Dual Core processor and 256MB of memory standard. Users can purchase additional memory/ hard disk drive. You'll find access to memory on the left side of the device. All other connections are located on the back of the printer as well as a removable panel for access to the paper path.
