CES 2013: What's Hot for the New Year

After a week of meetings, booth tours, press events, dinners and more, CES 2013 is officially in the books. But the exciting part still lies ahead; all the new, innovative products finally hitting consumers' hands! Take a look back with the PrinterComparison staff at the best print products CES 2013 has to offer for consumers over the coming year!

Canon
Canon made an appearance at the Digital Experience Technology Tailgate and had a booth located in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. On display were the new Pixma AIO inkjets released in December 2012 as well as new products announced at CES 2013.

They introduced four brand new office all-in-one inkjets: the Canon Pixma MX922 Wireless Office All-in-One, Canon Pixma MX522 Wireless Office All-in-One, Canon Pixma MX452 Wireless Office All-in-One and Canon Pixma MX392 Office All-in-One.

They also introduced two new imageCLASS single function printers - imageCLASS LBP6780dn and imageCLASS LBP7780Cdn - targeted at the SMB market and offering the fastest print speeds in the imageCLASS lineup.

Get more information about all that Canon had to offer from our Canon at CES 2013 article and be on the lookout for the office lineup on PrinterComparison over the coming month!

3D Printing
For those who follow PrinterComparison, you probably noticed that 3D printing has been in the headlines more as manufacturers bring down the cost. At CES 2013, 3D Systems, Makerbot and Sculpteo showed off 3D print products.

3D Systems introduced the CubeX 3D Printer, a more advanced model that allows customers to take their 3D printing to the next level with triple color printing and the largest print volume in its class.

Makerbot announced the new Replicator 2X 3D printer and new software, MakerWare. The Replicator 2X allows customers to print in two colors with PLA Filament manufactured by MakerBot.

MakerBot is planning on offering a variety of colors and styles including (but not limited to): matte, translucent, shimmery, metallic and sparkly colors now that they are manufacturing their own plastic print material.

Sculpteo is taking 3D printing from the cloud further with the 3DPCase app. The 3DPCase app takes customer's imagery and turns into a unique iPhone case.

HP

HP didn't announce anything new at CES 2013 but they were showing off the Envy 120 e-All-in-One announced in November 2012.

HP has turned the scan lid into a piece of clear glass, allowing customers to get a better idea of the image they are scanning while it's being scanned as well as creating a more visually appealing device for a home. Check back with PrinterComparison for a full review of this sleek new device!

Polaroid
Polaroid said goodbye to the Lady Gaga days - and some of the ridiculous concepts - and stepped out into the retail space with the introduction of Polaroid Fotobar. The Fotobar store will give customers the ability to turn their favorite images from their Android and iOS devices, digital cameras and more into a variety of photo projects.

Polaroid also had all their print capable devices on hand including the brand new Z2300 Instant Digital Camera. The Z2300 is a 10 megapixel digital camera that prints full color 2 x 3 inch images using the ZINK Zero Ink Printing Technology.

Get more info about the Polaroid Fotobar stores and the Z2300 Instant Digital Camera in our CES 2013 Polaroid article!

Samsung
Samsung's booth in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center was over the top as usual but they didn't have much in the way of printing at CES 2013.

They had one printer on display, the CLP-365w single function color laser printer announced in the summer of 2012.
