Lexmark Offers New Document Security Solution

Lexmark's new Secure Content Monitor is designed to mitigate risks and protect confidential information in industries such as healthcare, government, manufacturing and finance where the management of sensitive and confidential information is critical.

The new product can help reduce the threat of data leaks that stem from the printing or scanning of documents containing sensitive information, according to Lexmark.

The lexmark Secure Monitor enables businesses to automatically track and audit sensitive and confidential information - such as credit card numbers, patient information, bank records and social security numbers - contained in documents in a similar way that companies seek to protect such information contained in emails.

The new product enables companies to monitor the information being printed from their internal computers and mobile devices plus documents that are copied, faxed and scanned from a company device.

The new lexmark security product helps protect organizations by:

• Automatically capturing and collecting information extracted from documents through an enterprise content management (ECM) system
• Providing access to electronic versions of documents exactly as they were copied, scanned, emailed or faxed
• Establishing proactive alerts that continuously search and identify content passing through the ECM system, identifying threats before costly damage occurs
