Last month, Kodak introduced the HERO lineup of AIO inkjets featuring five new products - the HERO 3.1, HERO 5.1, HERO 7.1, HERO 9.1 and Office HERO 6.1 - as well as the new Google Cloud Print and Kodak Email Print functionality allowing both new and current customers to print from mobile devices on the go.

Today, we'll be sharing our full review of the flagship HERO 9.1 All-in-One, the only "home" printer from Kodak to offer fax functionality along with the typical trio of print, scan and copy. The flashy HERO 9.1 has a sleek new design with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, 30-page ADF, 100-sheet paper tray with a 40-sheet photo tray and print speeds up to 8.5 ipm in black and 5.5 ipm in color.

So find out today how it stacks up against the previous generation ESP line as well as other manufacturer's!

BUILD AND DESIGN
As we mentioned previously, the Kodak HERO 9.1 has a new look that sets it apart from the Kodak ESP 9250, the top of the line from the ESP AIO portfolio. While the box dimensions are roughly the same - 18 x 17 x 9-inches - it has a sleeker look with a mixture of glossy black, matte black and glossy silver paneling, not to mention the adjustable 4.3-inch touchscreen display.

The HERO 9.1 offers many of the features we saw on previous flagship ESP models including a 30-page ADF for hands-free scanning, copying and faxing documents up to 8.5 x 14-inches and a 24-bit CIS flatbed scanner for documents and images up to 8.5 x 11.7 inches with an optical resolution up to 2400 dpi. Unlike past devices from Kodak, users now have the option to scan images directly to Google Docs or their email with the new cloud services offered.

You'll still find the built-in card reader with a front side USB/PictBridge port on the front of the Kodak HERO 9.1. Compatible formats include: SD, SDHC, MMC, Memory Stick and Memory Stick PRO.

The paper capacity has not been upgraded; you'll find the 100-sheet paper tray and 40-sheet photo tray front and center on the HERO 9.1. Kodak does offer their new 3D print functionality first announced at CES 2011 earlier this year.

Like all of its predecessors, the HERO 9.1 uses a two-cartridge pigment ink system for what Kodak believes is a "premium ink that costs less." The Kodak HERO 9.1 comes with the 10B and 10C ink cartridges, but users also have the choice of the high capacity 10XL replacement option.

All connections are found on the back of the Kodak HERO 9.1. Users have their choice between a Hi-Speed USB 2.0, Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection, but if you want to take advantage of the new Google Cloud Print and Kodak Email Print services, you'll need to set up the HERO 9.1 over a wireless connection.
