BUILD AND DESIGN
The CLP-775nd's design is nearly identical to the previous generation CLP-770nd. The gray boxy exterior, control panel, standard 500-sheet paper cassette and even the dimensions - 18 x 18 x 19 inches - are all the same. In effect, Samsung took the CLP-770nd box, added a few new features, and came up with the CLP-775nd.
Which isn't necessarily a bad thing since we gave the CLP-770nd a good review last May. Working our way down, you'll see the 350-sheet output tray and slender control panel which features a four-line LCD, touch compass dial and four quick keys.
Grasp the middle handle on the front of the CLP-775nd to release the panel and access the four toner cartridges (CMYK) and transfer belt. Each cartridge will yield approximately 7000 pages and the transfer belt will yield about 50,000 pages before needing to be replaced.
The 100-sheet multipurpose tray can be opened by grabbing the small handle located on the front panel. This tray is great for unique media sized from 3 x5 inches upwards to legal sized. Think envelopes, labels, transparencies, etc.
The 500-sheet cassette is located at the bottom of the CLP-775nd. Users can opt to add two additional 500-sheet drawers for a total paper capacity of 1600 sheets.
All connection ports are located on the right side of the machine. The CLP-775nd comes standard with an Ethernet 10/100/1000 Base TX or Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connection, but users can add wireless functionality with an expansion card.
