Epson Stylus Photo R3000 unveiled

The Stylus Photo R3000 is a 13-inch printer wide format printer allowing customers to print BorderFree roll and cut-sheet in a variety of sizes ranging from 4 x 6 prints to 13 x 19 inch poster size. The R3000 will also print on CD and DVD's or fine art media up to 1.5 mm thick thanks to the new front-in/front-out paper path.

The R3000 also offers the AccuPhoto HD2 Image Technology, a process that combines "complex mathematical architecture and advanced screening technology... and reduces metameric index of ink combinations" so that architects can print consistent color in different lighting as well as get high quality images in low resolution modes.

Of course, the Stylus Photo R3000 features the Epson UltraChrome K3 ink system with nine individual high capacity ink cartridges including a Vivid Magenta, a Light Magenta, Photo Black and Matte Black. With the Epson MicroPiezo AMC print head, the R3000 offers a maximum print resolution up to 5670 x 1440 optimized dpi.

The Stylus Photo R3000 is network ready and can be set up over a wired or wireless connection. It's also compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. The R3000 is Energy Star qualified and RoHS compliant. The R3000 comes with a 1-year whole-unit exchange limited warranty.

The Epson Stylus Photo R3000 single-function photo printer will be available in March 2011 from Epson direct and authorized retailers for the estimated retail price of $849.
